Welcome to the third issue of Colen's Corner, an online dining guide for the traveling connoisseur.
In this issue we look at some of the finer restaurants in the Salt Lake City, UT area. As you know, Salt Lake City will play host to the 20002 Winter Olympic Games. It is going through a major expansion process which includes: highways, hotels, and restaurants.

In the heart of downtown lies an area that houses some of Salt lake City's finest restaurants. One of those would have to be Baci Trattoria. Tasty pasta dishes along with delicious veal and chicken. Don't plan on enjoying your favorite Italian wine with dinner. They are limited in SLC as to what they can serve as well as it's alcohol content. Colen's Corner Rating: 3***

What a find.. A fresh and upbeat Mexican style restaurant in of all places; Sandy, Ut. close to the entrances to Little and Big Cottonwood Canyon. Great service, fresh Guacamole, and a comfortable environment make this a treat.. The beef was very tasty, and I can't say enough about the service. Colen's Corner Rating: 3 ***
Snelgrove Ice Cream Parlor: 850 E. 2100 South, Salt Lake City, UT (312) 943-1124 (American)
It's not often that I am moved by a local ice cream parlor, but this one has quite a bit of tradition behind it. They aren't kidding on that sign either. It is one of America's finest Ice Cream stores. Thick / Thick / Thick.. shakes... A banana split that will keep you full for hours, along with very creamy and tasty ice cream make this a must after a meal in SLC or a hard day on the slopes to cheer you up.
